Presbyterian Weekday School (PWS) and Mother's Morning Out (MMO) are half-day preschool that offers a unique, developmentally-appropriate program designed to foster the healthy development of young children, ages 6 months to 4 years, in a loving, Christ-centered environment.

About Presbyterian Weekday School (PWS)
For over 60 years, the Presbyterian Weekday School (PWS) and the Mother's Morning Out (MMO) programs located at First Presbyterian Church, Gastonia, NC, has offered developmentally appropriate, faith-based, Early Childhood Education for area children as a community outreach. We feel a child's growth in the Christian faith is best nurtured by loving adults who are themselves persons of faith.
PWS offers a nationally accredited Preschool program serving children between the ages of two and five years old. PWS is dedicated to top quality early childhood care and instruction, using research-based curricula and delivery practices.
Our staff adheres to the standards of the National Accreditation Commission (NAC), and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our guide for implementing developmentally appropriate practices stems from the Creative Curriculum from Teaching Strategies, LLC., in Preschool. Teachers use their understanding of child development to create a warm learning environment and plan activities that meet each child at their current level of cognitive, language, physical, spiritual and social development. All of these targeted practices are strategically put in place to create an environment that encourages a lifelong pleasure of learning.

About Mother's Morning Out (MMO)
Our Mother's Morning Out (MMO) program provides a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where young children can play, learn, and grow while their parents take a needed break. We welcome children from 6 months (able to sit independently) up to the fall before they enter two-year-old preschool (i.e. must be under age 2 by August 31). Due to the level of activity in the older tolder room children in this room must be walking. MMO sessions run Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, 8:30 to 11:45 am, beginning after Labor Day and continuing through mid-May.
