Our Global Missions Partners
By participating in global missions, First Presbyterian Church strives to live out "Faith in Action!" Our congregation participates in scholarship programs, mission trips, and helps to provide meals for the food-insecure.

Our Global Programs
Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that provides nutritious, shelf-stable meals to children and families in areas affected by poverty, conflict, and disaster. Each March, our church hosts meal-packing events that bring together volunteers of all ages to prepare thousands of meals in just a few hours. These meals are shipped worldwide to schools, orphanages, and mission partners who use food assistance as a pathway to education and stability. This ministry invites our entire congregation, families, youth, and adults to serve with a shared purpose. Through Rise Against Hunger, we turn compassion into action and help fight global hunger one meal at a time.
Our Guatemala mission partnership connects us with Presbyterian churches in the Suchitepéquez and Sur Occidente regions of Guatemala. Through this relationship, we support education, community development, and spiritual growth alongside our Guatemalan brothers and sisters in Christ. One of the most meaningful parts of this ministry is a scholarship program that helps children and young adults afford school supplies, uniforms, and vocational training so they can pursue brighter futures. We also support microloan programs for women, helping them launch small businesses that provide stability for their families, and we encourage family peace initiatives like the Men in the Mirror program. Built on years of friendship, shared mission, and faith, this partnership reminds us that God’s work is global, and hope grows when we walk together across cultures and borders.
Our church is blessed to partner with Ebenezer School in Malawi, a Christian school serving children from rural communities where access to education is limited. Many families struggle with extreme poverty, and Ebenezer provides not only academic instruction but also daily meals, spiritual encouragement, and hope for a brighter future. First Presbyterian Church supports the school through financial gifts, student sponsorships, classroom resources, and leadership development. More than a mission project, this is a relationship built on mutual faith, prayer, and shared purpose across continents. Together, we are transforming lives through education and extending Christ’s love around the world.
The Daily Change Hunger Offering is received the second Sunday of each month as an act of worship. Our gifts are administered by the Presbytery of Western North Carolina. The Daily Change offering supports both international and regional hunger programs as a way to show compassion and do justice for those in need. This program provides an avenue for outreach and ministry that allows every member of the presbytery to participate equally. Large or small, every gift can make a difference. Please remember to save your coins or green to help provide a meal for those in need. Donations can be made online (select the Daily Change fund) or by mailing a check to the church.
